WW1 bottles that were all found in and around Mametz Wood during the 1980's. The large green bottle was made in Nottingham and is possibly a beer bottle. There is also a relish bottle and two other unknown bottles. The relish bottle is damaged around the rim however all of the other bottles look to be in good ground dug condition. These bottles would have been sent from the UK to the trenches for a bit of home comfort. Once consumed, they would have been discarded in the nearest shell hole or hedge.
