WW1 gin bottle that was recently found by a local collector near Thiepval. This bottle was made by a company in London possibly to mark the opening of the 'Open golf tournament' but this is my best guess. Undoubtedly this would have been purchased by an officer or their family from the UK and brought to the Somme in their officers dug out which then was discarded after use. As you can see, the bottle has clearly been in the ground for over 100 years and still even has original Somme mud on it. The bottle itself is in field found condition as seen in the pictures which adds to the character.
