A very poignant relic that was found at Avaluy Wood in the Somme region of France showing the bitter fighting that occurred in the area. This is a nice solid relic and has clearly been found in a dry area showing little signs of rust. On one side there are two small holes from shrapnel. The tin was used to hold grease that would grease the working parts of artillery guns to prevent wear and tear.
