WW1 Notts and Derby Bravery In The Field Commendation Signed By Sir Stuart Wortley CO 46th Division

An incredibly rare signed certificate of bravery awarded to Sgt Dakin of the 1/6th Sherwood Forresters together with a photograph of him dated 9th April 1915. What is particularly special is that the certificate has been signed by Sir Stuart Wortley who was the commanding officer of the 46th Division and was the only divisional commander to be sacked after the 1st July 1916 and was blamed unfairly for a 'lack of offensive spirit'. The red surround has some moth damage and the picture has clearly been poorly stored over its time however I have had to framed and protected for future generations.
