A nice example of a WW1 British identity disk first issued in 1907 and were discontinued in 1914 showing that the owner was a 'old sweat'. The identity disk belonged to a E Fillery 27223 Royal Engineers who was a signaller. Signallers had the vital job to ensure there was communication from the front line trenches to the rear areas and during attacks they advanced with follow up waves to establish communication. This is a great example of a hard to get disk.
